These worksheets provide practice in the basic rules for the order in which arithmetic operations are performed. The emphasis is on re-enforcing that operations within parenthesis are performed prior to operations outside of parenthesis, and that multiplications are done prior to additions or subtractions. There is no use of exponents in these questions.
Counting money and ”making change”” are practical applications of early math skills. Our grade 3 counting money worksheets give kids practice in counting money (coins and notes) as well as with simple money word problems. Our ”shopping problems” ask students to make change.
Samantha wants to throw a birthday party. The pizza place she chooses has tables that seat 12 people each. She wants 9 of her friends to sit at each table. The rest of the table will be for adults. If she invites 72 friends, how many guests can fit altogether?
